Julie and Ryan’s San Antonio wedding

So I have theory that part of being a good wedding photographer is the ability to attract great clients. With Julie and Ryan I
my theory proves true. Their creativity, fun loving personalities and their love for each other was so prevalent throughout the day,
how could the images not contain those qualities.

The first thing they did right, beside choosing each other, was to choose the Southwest School of Arts and Crafts in San Antonio
for their wedding venue. Right alongside the riverwalk, with a chapel for the reception site and the most beautiful grounds for the
ceremony and cocktail hour, this is a perfect venue. From there on they made many more right choices. Their invitations to start
with, the family made honey that served as place card and favors, the notes cards and card tree, and the sweet little bride and
groom birds that adorned the cake table, all added up to make this an event to remember.

…and of course there were the mustaches on sticks. What more needs to be said besides, I loved them! Everyone looks better with
a mustache, don’t you think?

Here is a list of their other right choices:

florist: RTC Floristry
bakery: Seventh Heaven Cakes
caterer: Fresh Horizons
ceremony music: Marshall Ford Swing Band
reception music: T Bird and the Breaks
videographer: Michelle Millette

Congratulations Julie and Ryan!

Jessica and Michael’s Umlauf Sculpture Garden wedding

Jessica and Michael traveled from New York City to have their wedding at the Umlauf Sculpture Garden here in Austin, Texas.
They made their home base the distinctly Austin styled, Hotel San Jose . We met there first on the wedding day to photograph
some of them getting ready and also do a few portraits. As you can see, Jessica and Michael make a very handsome couple,
so our work there was pretty easy.

The wedding itself was held at the Umlauf Sculpture Garden. The ceremony site was recently reworked by Big Red Sun. It looked
and functioned fabulously. Kudos to Jessica and her girlfriends for taking the time to string the orchids that made the ceremony
site even more special. 34th Street Catering did a great job with everything, and as an added bonus they had Caffe Teo come in to
serve their amazing gelato.

The Atlantics performed with a little help from the bride, her sister, her Dad and some other guests as well. They all made for a very
entertaining evening.

Congratulations Jessica and Michael!

Amy’s portrait session at Green Pastures

Alright, so sometimes it seems as though you hit the photographers jackpot. Last week at Green Pastures when Amy walked out
of the bride’s getting ready room, that’s exactly how it felt. Just a quick glance and you know she is beautiful, but to top it all off
she knows how to move. Heaven.

Amy chose a Vera Wang dress, which kind of makes sense since she works at Vera Wang. The vintage styled veil that she is
wearing in some of the photos is her own creation. Amy and her fiance, Stephen, chose Green Pastures for their wedding location,
which is a perfect fit for it’s vintage styling and classic look.

Just 2 more weeks until the wedding day. We will be sure to include some more of Amy, (and Stephen!) then.

Leslie and Ryan’s Four Seasons wedding in Austin

Leslie and Ryan are currently living in Amsterdam, but chose to hold their wedding in Austin at the Four Seasons Hotel this
past September. Having lived in many places all over the world, their guests traveled from far and wide for this first-class
destination wedding. The weather on the 18th was surprisingly perfect. Austin in September can be very hot, but that day the sun
cooperated and gave us just what we needed for the perfect outdoor ceremony. Chuck Kindswatter, a friend of the family, delivered
one of the best ceremonies I have ever heard. He had asked the bride and groom prior to the wedding day many questions about
each other and their first meeting and then incorporated their responses into the ceremony. It was heartfelt, sincere, at times funny
and brought us all into the immediate moment.

Bouquets of Austin did a beautiful job incorporating the vivid fall colors into the bouquets, ceremony site and table arrangements,
and thanks to Resha of 36th Street Events and Josh of Penguin Entertainment, because of them the event proceeded flawlessly.
Oh and of course, thanks to Ryan ‘s grandmother, Nell Jean “Muddie” Ledbetter, for the amazing cookie recipe they used instead
of a grooms cake. So yummy!

vermont autumn still lifes

I was recently in Vermont, one of my most favorite places on earth.

Here are a few photos from the hours I spent wandering around in the woods.
